Back to School

Back to School is a documentary-style video developed to help teens and pre-teens who are preparing to return to school after a long absence due to serious illness or injury. The DVD features interviews with real teens with cancer, Crohn's and colitis, cystic fibrosis, heart transplants, burn injuries and other disorders who share stories and advice for returning to school. Back to School helps teens who are feeling nervous, excited and/or scared realize that they are not alone while they learn more about:

• Getting back into the groove of school
• Keeping up with homework and friends
• What to do about teasing and staring
• Talking about their illness with people at school

The DVD also comes with Starlight's Communicating with Your Doctor, Cracking Hospital Life and Coping With Chemo videos.

Back to School is free to children and teens with serious illnesses, families, schools and health care professionals.
