Starlight teens "Rocked the Night Away" at Starlight's Prom generously sponsored by CNA
"This is just to thank Starlight and CNA and all the volunteers and sponsors for the wonderful prom experience! My daughter loved it! Please pass along our thanks to Marlene and all the people at CNA and Starlight who worked so hard to make that night so special. It is very difficult for young adults with medical issues to plan recreational activities around their illness. CNA and Starlight were so accommodating to plan out parking accommodations, raffle prizes, and a wonderful CD souvenir that my daughter continues to enjoy!
Starlight and CNA pay such careful attention to detail including each individual's medical condition, dietary restrictions and personal comfort that the prom is an extraordinary moment in time for each attendee. The volunteers covered every base imaginable, from engaging in conversation with every prom-goer and his/her guest, to organizing the raffle, energizing the dancing and making each individual feel special for that magical night.
The thoughtfulness of Starlight and CNA for putting together this prom cannot be overstated. It is one of the highlights of the year! Thanks so much for making my daughter feel so special!"
 For many, Independence Day weekend is filled with family picnics, fireworks and outdoor activities. Unfortunately for some Starlight children this holiday weekend will be filled with hospitalizations, surgeries and painful treatments, leaving parents wondering how to bring joy into their child’s life.

Starlight's Young Professional Board
Starlight Midwest is thrilled to announce that we are starting a Young Professionals Board (YPB). The YPB initially will be comprised of 20 highly energized and focused young professionals dedicated to supporting Starlight Midwest's mission through fundraising and public relations. We are actively recruiting motivated individuals seeking an opportunity to get involved with a fabulous, focused organization and serve as its ambassador promoting Starlight Midwest. Spring Fundraising Spotlight
State Farm Agent Matt Mitchell has partnered with Starlight Foundation Midwest to help raise money for their cause. Matt has developed a program in which he will make a $10 donation to Starlight for every referral his office receives. "In the past, I provided a $10 gift certificate to local retailers and coffee shops for anyone who offered us a referral. At the end of 2008, Mr. Mitchell looked at how much he was spending on gift certificates and felt like he could channel that money to something more meaningful. Being a parent of two small children led him to focus on a charity that helps kids. “My team and I are very excited about this." said Mr. Mitchell.
