Dream Date
Dreamer's Draw Committee
The Dreamer's Draw offers Dream Date guests an opportunity to purchase tickets to "bid" on the raffle package of their choice. They may bid on as many items as they like with as many tickets as they wish. A winning ticket is drawn for each package.
Responsibilities
This committee is responsible for soliciting and securing items for raffle prize packages based on themes. Past event packages included themes such as "Fashionista" and "Sports Fanatic".
Time Commitment
6 months
September through February; 2-4 hours per week for solicitations
Attendance at monthly Dream Date Committee meeting and sub-committee (Dreamer's Draw) meeting/conference calls.
Dream Date Trips Committee
This committee is responsible for assembling trip packages that will be auctioned during the Live Auction at Dream Date.
Responsibilities
Members of this committee will solicit donated goods and services that will be combined with a pair of airline tickets to a designated location in the US or an international location. Members will research popular travel destinations, including hotels, restaurants and activities. Volunteers will also procure items, donor report forms and provide on-going follow-up with donors.
Time Commitment
6 months (September - February); approximately 2-4 hours per week for soliciting
Monthly Committee meeting and monthly Trips sub-committee meeting.
Dream Date Logistics Committee
This committee is responsible for planning and executing the feel and flow of the night for Dream Date.
Responsibilities
Plan the logistics for the evening including stage appearances by bachelors and bachelorettes, and live auction.
Serve as primary contacts during the event for the auctioneer, emcee, DJ, presenters, host location A/V person and lighting crew.
Time Commitment
Approximately 2-3 months (December-February) and must be available to staff the event; attend at least 2 of the monthly Dream Date Committee meetings and meet regularly with the Logistics Sub-committee in January and February.
Host Committee Members
Host Committee opportunities are available for our annual Dream Date and Wine Tasting events. Host Committee volunteers are responsible for promoting the event, recruiting and securing at least 10 people to purchase tickets and attend the event. Volunteers may also submit names to the Starlight Starbright staff to send invitations on the Host Committee members behalf.
Time Commitment
2-3 months prior to the event date; attend an initial 1 hour committee meeting to receive training, information and sales sheets, and promotional information regarding the event.
Event Volunteers
Volunteers are responsible for helping to ensure the event operates efficiently. Volunteers will be assigned to an assignment such as guest registration, raffle ticket sales, live/silent auction, or other duty as required.
Time Commitment
Volunteers must be available to work the event; arrive before event start time.
Casino Night Volunteers
Volunteers are responsible for dealing casino games such as Texas Hold'em, Black Jack, Craps, or Roulette. Training is provided the night of the event. Starlight Starbright must register all Casino volunteers with the State of Illinois prior to the event.
Time Commitment
Casino Night events are typically 3-5 hours. Volunteers are recruited 4-8 weeks before the event, as needed.
